My advice would be to donate the money you were going to spend on your offset to a good environmental NGO. If you choose a good one then the money will make a difference to future generations of humans and all the other creatures we share the planet with.
Offsetting is very much a last resort, how about looking at ways of reducing your footprint as the first priority.

Cool facts,
The only thing special about starfish I knew was their ability to grow new arms. I wonder how long it takes a feather star to grow a new appendage.
Thanks for the post

Thanks for that information, this will make it easier to deside :-)
I have a question related to that: What about the water temperature? I only have a 3mm and a 5mm suite for diving, and when I was last year in Egypt at September, at some days it was almost to cold to use them.

I apologize if you had posted about that issue before, I'm following you guys at twitter only since a couple of month ;-)

I would add to #2 - google the hell out of them. I have dived with a "PADI 5 star resort" company once and was glad just to have made it out alive.
Upon hitting the net in earnest to ensure this happened to no one else I discovered that many others had been in the same situation.
Check first.
Dive second.

This most exquisite Coral Reef must be protected.

The more traffic the less protection.

When we think Oh, its been around forever and will be around forever we have just destroyed it.

How important to treat it as a precious gift.

Love and blessings to the Earth.

I wander what was that ship doing there, in the area where it shouldn't be.
There is no use of sophisticated technology if the people doesn't know how to use it or worse if they do not observe the rules of navigation or, the worst if the companie's managment send the dummies to navigate on board ships.
I guess the last is the case.

It spread of over 2000 kilometers. Along with Green Turtles, whales, and dolphins, the water conserves over 4000 types of mollusks that wander around in search of food. You will find almost every type of marine creature in the bunch of reefs. This is one of the reasons why Great Barrier Reef is top tourist destination in Australia.
