I agree John that offsetting is a last resort after you've reduced as much as possible, but as it's still an effective way to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere which reduces the pace of man-made climate change. For this reason offsets are very good and well done New Horizon for investing in them.

Offsetting is putting your money where your mouth is...showing that you really are concerned about the amount of man made carbon dioxide that enters the atmosphere...and that you understand the urgent need to address the cause of damaging climate change.

My advice would be to donate the money you were going to spend on your offset to a good environmental NGO. If you choose a good one then the money will make a difference to future generations of humans and all the other creatures we share the planet with.
Offsetting is very much a last resort, how about looking at ways of reducing your footprint as the first priority.
